GRAINCORP has received 6.67 million tonnes (Mt) in the harvest to today after deliveries for the week of 1.5Mt, according to its weekly Harvest Update.

The bulk handler said harvest was wrapping up across most of Queensland, with final wheat and chickpea receivals coming into the Darling Downs and Goondiwindi regions.

GrainCorp sites in the Goondiwindi cluster have now received more than 1Mt of grain this harvest, and activity is ramping up in southern New South Wales and Victoria.

“Activity in northern NSW slowed last week due to weather events and high winds; however, receivals have been coming in strongly across the Dubbo region.

“Sites around Werris Creek have now started receiving as well, with quality across all commodities looking strong.

“Sites are now receiving all commodities across southern NSW, with harvest activity well under way across the region.”

GrainCorp said last week included several days with more than 120,000t received across the clusters, but unfavourable harvest weather disrupted activity on some days.

“In Victoria, weather conditions slowed harvest progress again last week.

“Sites have received good quality canola and barley, with the first deliveries of wheat now coming through the gates.”
