The team at Farming Together and the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance at Southern Cross University is excited to share that the Regenerative Agriculture Mentoring Program (RAMP) Pilot launched at the start of February. The RAMP Pilot is a 3-month program working with twelve selected landholders from Byron Bay and Bellingen and is supported by representatives from Byron Shire Council and Bellingen Landcare.
The Byron Bay mentee participants are being mentored by Southern Blue Regenerative's Glen Chapman and in Bellingen, mentee participants are being mentored by Inside Outside Management's Brian Wehlberg. The online, 3-month Pilot Program will provide important insight into the development of the final 12-month program in initiating and supporting transformative change in agriculture.
The online launch of the program was attended by our team at Southern Cross University along with the regional representatives, the mentors and the twelve selected participants from Byron Bay and Bellingen. The launch was opened with a Welcome to Country by Southern Cross University's Gnibi College academic, Rachel Lynwood and, program participants and mentors were further welcomed by Strategic Projects director and Australian Regenerative Agriculture pioneer, Lorraine Gordon.
Very soon we will be opening the application process for the full 12-month program. There are nine mentor regions participating across New South Wales who will work with our regenerative agriculture mentor experts to develop their knowledge, capacity and application of the founding principles and practices of regenerative agriculture. The RAMP group-mentoring program is unique as it has an added feature of an embedded education component which is delivered in each of the twelve once-monthly online mentoring sessions. This model is designed to best facilitate transformative change in agriculture and is funded through the NSW Environmental Trust Environmental Education initiative.
Keep an eye out for the application opening date – coming very soon!
